Back to school

Well back to school today! I had a hard time getting up since my body wouldn't let me fall asleep until about 1 last night. Oh well!

I had a great Thanksgiving day with matt and his family. It was pretty much exactly how I would have spent it with my own, very laid back and chill. I am now looking forward to Christmas!

This week is a very busy week, we have our choir concert this Thursday in the gym at 530 and then right after I get to stay until 8 for craft night. Woohoo! All week were practicing with our choir after school to get them ready, I'm a little nervous since this will be the first time I've conducted any pieces since college! But I think the kids will do a great job and hopefully we will have a good turn out of parents that will attend.

Next Thursday were taking them to Northpark where they will sing outside of Dillards at 10 that morning, then after we get to take them shopping around the mall and eat lunch at the foodcourt.....should be an interesting day.

Thanksgiving

As I was getting ready for school this morning I was thinking how this will be my first Thanksgiving without any of my family. It's interesting to me that were all spending the holiday with other loved ones this year. I feel very fortunate though that Matt's family has graciously offered to have me over to spend the day with them. They are a sweet family and I enjoy thier company very much. I've had many awkward boyfriend family encounters, I can't even begin to tell stories. But I've spent a lot of time with Matt's family and even though different then my own they make me feel right at home.

I willl be happy to spend christmas with my family though and my sweet nephew Campers who I'm sure will make it an exciting one. Last night I went to my parents house and he walked upstairs with me to do something and crawled right up in my lap. I like to think he knows who I am and that I love him very much. We enjoyed a few moments of saying, ball, popz, button, doggie, mama, and li-li. I'm still working on the aunt li-li thing, maybe it will catch on but who knows. After he got out of his bath he ran out and gave me a big hug and kiss night night. It was precious and I cherish these times right now when I can still pick him up and have him sit in my laugh. I think this age where he is right now is my favorite.

And I can't wait to meet my new nephew in Jan! Even ithough he lives in LA I'll still love him with all my heart just like I do with Paige!

Come on Week!

So I feel like this week has dragged on forever and I've gotten nothing really accomplished. Last night Matt and I got free tickets from one of his friends to see the Mavs play and it was so much fun! I hate the San Antonio Spurs, so it was fun to get to watch them play and we had great seats too! I was 12 rows back from the court, and Dirk is defnitly a huge dude!

This weekend I'm going to San Antonio for a teacher friends wedding, and I'm pretty excited about getting away from Dallas for a couple of days. Then next week is Thanksgiving break and I'm definitely looking forward to that.

I guess this is where I say what I'm thankful for?

First sickness

Well I feel pretty lucky to have made it this far without getting sick, but yet here I am feeling like pooh. I woke up this morning all congested and my head feels like it's about to explode and I'm pretty sure I could sleep till Friday and only get up to eat something and use the bathroom. Looks like my couch is going to be my friend for the new few days!


Hopefully the grouchiness will not continue all week, I'm feeling a little short tempered today.......

But in GOOD news, next week is Thanksgiving break and I'm looking forward to spending it with my two favorite scotties (besides sophie!!) at mom and dads. Even if that does mean no sleeping in for my break.....ahem....... :)

A few of my Favorite things

This Holiday season is rapidly approaching and I love it!

Here are a couple of my absolute favorite things about this holiday season.

Christmas Trees! I will be putting my Christmas tree up in my apt again this year. I love coming home to it and turning it on.

And of course the Peppermint Hot Chocolate at starbucks is a must. I get it with skim milk and no whip cream and it's just as wonderful! Of course this holiday treat can add up so I only treat myself every now and then. Today is my first cup and it's just amazing!
